Of light...

From Gypsy Mama: On Fridays we just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. It’s such a relief, I promise.
    Today's prompt: Delight
Delight. I don't delight in things as often as I should. When was the last time? Mostly I think of kids and delight. What's wrong with adults? Where is our delight?

And then I notice, strange connections that aren't really logical. De--this little syllable can mean of. Right? Maybe that's my Spanish brain speaking. Still. Of light. Okay, no dictionary would include this definition. But my new definition delights me. Delight comes from basking in the light of God, from living in the freedom that He gives, from loving the creation that he made. And the only verse in my head matches. Delight yourself in the Lord our God. And if the amount of time I spend in the light of the word is a reflection of the delight I experience, no wonder. Lord, help me delight.

  2. Yes, the light of Christ in our hearts enables us to delight in the gifts he gives, to choose trust in his power over stress in my lack of power! Thank you for this pondering.
